The Type 072-II (NATO codename: Yuting class) is the large landing ship built by Shanghai-based Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard as a successor to the Type 072 (Yukan class) large landing ship.[1] A total of 11 hulls have been delivered to the PLA Navy since the early 1990s. The Type 072-II is the PLA Navy’s first amphibious warfare ship to have a flight deck for helicopter take-off/landing. These ships are currently deployed by the PLA South Sea Fleet based at Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province.
